On April 6, 2016, the Food Strategy held an Open House on backyard chickens. Nearly 400 people came out and shared their thoughts on whether chickens should be allowed in urban areas of the city, asked questions, and put forward their ideas about what kinds of things they might like to see in a by-law.
The Open House included and educational area with live chickens, activities for children, photo booth egg-themed snacks, and the opportunity for people to share their comments! Local experts were also on on hand to answer questions.
