Nancy White, intrepid foods educator and local food advocate will be joining the conversation to talk about how we are integrating local food literacy and production into the Grade 11/12 foods classes at Superior CVI.
Please Register Here and join us live for the webinar on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, 3:30-4:45pm.
More about this webinar: A focus on local and healthy food in school food programs has led to innovative ideas and changes in school food landscapes. In this webinar, Jody Mitchell from Roots to Harvest in Thunder Bay and Coreen Jones from Ecosource in Peel Region, will facilitate a conversation with Ontario secondary school teachers that are leading a shift towards local food by piloting different initiatives in their schools. The discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities that school food programs face in moving toward a more localized food system, the sometimes messy process of making change, and the importance of making the change sustainable.
This webinar is the first of two. Stay tuned for the second webinar that will discuss the conclusions and implications of the local food pilot projects that have taken place in Durham, Peel, and Thunder Bay over the 2014/2015 school year.
These webinars tent to fill up quickly so please Register soon to ensure your spot on the call. The webinar will be available online near the end of June if you can't make the live show!
