Local Food Procurement is one of the seven pillars of the Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy. Our goal is to leverage procurement food spending to develop a food supply chain that contributes to the economic, ecological, and social wellbeing of the Thunder Bay area through purchases that foster local production, processing, and distribution. On September 19th 2017, the Food Strategy is hosting the 'Get Creative! Local Food Procurement Workshop' intended for institutional buyers who are interested in learning about creative solutions for local food purchasing and value creation. Come join us!
