The Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy (TBAFS) is excited to announce the Golden Carrot Award! This annual award will be given to one community member whose food initiatives support the regional food system and uphold the TBAFS’s mission and seven pillars:
“The TBAFS is committed to creating a healthy, equitable, and sustainable food system that contributes to the economic, ecological and social well-being and health of the City of Thunder Bay and area.”
Seven Pillars: Food Access * Forest & Freshwater Foods * Food Infrastructure * Food Procurement * Food Production * School Food Environments * Urban Agriculture
To make a nomination, please include the full name, email address and a 200-word explanation on why the nominee deserves this award. The nominee’s food initiatives must support the food system in one or all areas of the City of Thunder Bay, Oliver Paipoonge, O’Connor, Gillies, Shuniah, Neebing and/or Conmee townships.
The deadline for nominations is September 27th, 2018.
The executive committee of the TBAFS will review nominees and select the winner. The winner will be featured in a story in the next issue of Northwest Nosh and invited to the Annual General Meeting to present on their work and receive the award.
